Specialist assessment at our Essex workshop
Pro Power Steering welcomes enquiries from drivers and garages in Belfast and across Northern Ireland about electric, hydraulic and manual steering racks, pumps and steering boxes. Our workshop is in West Thurrock, Essex. We do not have a Northern Ireland branch, and vehicle diagnosis, removal and refitting need to be arranged locally.
The practical route is to discuss the removed component with us first. We will check whether it is suitable for specialist assessment and whether carriage to and from our Essex workshop can be arranged for your address. Please do not dispatch a unit until the transport route, cost and any applicable shipping requirements have been agreed.

Check the cause before removing the rack
Heavy steering, warning lights, a leak or uneven assistance can have more than one cause. A local garage should inspect the full steering system, record fault codes and check relevant wiring, power supply, fluid lines, joints and tyres before deciding which part needs attention. This helps avoid sending a sound rack when another component is at fault.
1. Identify the component
Provide the vehicle details, symptoms, test results and steering-unit part reference. We can discuss suitability for repair or reconditioning.
2. Agree carriage first
We confirm whether a suitable carrier route is available from your Northern Ireland address, what it will cost and whether any extra shipping information is needed.
3. Send the removed unit safely
If the job is accepted, drain applicable hydraulic fluid, protect electrical connectors and pack the unit securely. Follow the agreed dispatch instructions.
4. Assessment and return
Our Essex team inspects the unit and explains the proposed work and price before repair. Return carriage and timing are confirmed for the individual job; your local garage handles refitting and any required calibration or alignment.
