Steering Rack Repair for Manchester & the North West
Specialist steering repairs without a local branch visit
Drivers and garages in Manchester, Salford, Stockport, Bolton and across the North West can ask Pro Power Steering to assess a removed steering unit. Our only workshop is in West Thurrock, Essex; this is a send-and-return service, not a Manchester branch or a mobile fitting service.
We repair and recondition suitable electric power steering (EPS) racks, hydraulic racks, pumps and steering boxes. Contact us before removing or dispatching a unit so we can check the vehicle, symptoms and part identification, and explain the likely process and costs.
Ask about your steering fault
Tell us the vehicle make, model, year, fault symptoms, diagnostic codes and part number if known. We will advise whether a repair assessment or replacement enquiry is appropriate.
How the North West send-and-return service works
1. Identify the unit
Your local garage diagnoses the steering fault and provides the vehicle details. A warning light alone does not prove the rack is faulty, so the diagnosis matters.
2. Agree dispatch details
After we confirm suitability, the garage removes and securely packs the component. We confirm the correct delivery address and carriage options before it is sent.
3. Workshop assessment
At our Essex workshop we inspect the unit, identify the fault and advise whether repair, reconditioning or replacement is suitable. Work proceeds only after the quotation is agreed.
4. Return and refit
After the work and applicable testing, the unit is returned for your local garage to fit. Transit and workshop times vary by component and should be confirmed before booking.
Manchester, Liverpool, Warrington and Preston enquiries
This page covers enquiries from Greater Manchester and nearby North West locations including Manchester, Salford, Stockport, Bolton and Oldham. Garages in Liverpool, Warrington, Wigan, Chester and Preston can use the same enquiry process. We do not claim a premises in these places.
For trade customers handling repeat EPS or hydraulic repairs, see our trade steering services. For vehicle-specific faults, browse our vehicle brands or ask us to identify the correct unit before purchase or dispatch.
Before you send a steering rack
Do not send a component without contacting us first. Drain any fluid where applicable, protect exposed ends and electrical connectors, and pack the unit securely. The agreed carrier, parcel size and charges depend on the job. Keep the unit identification details for your records; a photo of a parcel label is not required.
