A rack can knock, creak, bind or develop play without storing an electronic fault. Inner joints, mountings, the steering column and nearby suspension components must also be inspected.
Steering and driver-assistance systems
A steering-assistance concern is not automatically the same as an Autopilot, lane-assistance or stability-control warning. The exact vehicle alert, reporting system and complete diagnostic evidence are important.

No Tesla EPS Fault Code but a Noisy Rack?
This is possible. Diagnostic trouble codes are generated for conditions monitored by the control modules; they do not identify every worn guide, bush, inner joint, mounting point or other mechanical source of noise and play.
If the steering knocks, creaks, feels loose, binds or becomes notchy while the scan remains clear, describe when it happens—for example while parking, changing direction, crossing uneven surfaces or turning near full lock.
A Tesla Fault Code Is Not a Complete Diagnosis
Tesla diagnostic records can include fault status, frequency, mileage, voltage and surrounding operating conditions. Low voltage, coding, calibration, wiring, communication, alignment and other vehicle conditions can create steering warnings without proving an internal rack failure.
