Steering racks
Electric, hydraulic and manual steering racks, including original-unit repair and correctly matched reconditioned replacements.
Complete steering support
We identify the correct steering racks, pumps and boxes and fit them professionally for individual customers, garages, workshops and trade partners across the UK.
Pro Power Steering can identify, supply and fit the correct steering component for your vehicle. We work with electric, hydraulic and manual steering systems, including original-unit reconditioning and professionally reconditioned replacement options.
Accurate matching matters. Before we confirm a replacement, we may need the registration, VIN, production date, drivetrain, part numbers, diagnostic information and photographs of the original unit.
Send the registration or VIN, make and model, year, symptoms, warning messages, complete diagnostic codes and clear photographs of every number on the original steering component.

We offer hydraulic and electro-hydraulic pump options after checking the unit identification, condition and availability.
We assess classic, modern and commercial-vehicle steering boxes for repair, reconditioning or replacement supply.
We can identify, assess, repair, recondition, supply and professionally fit suitable manual and electric-assist steering columns.
In addition, we can assess, supply or fit suitable steering shafts, joints, pipes, hoses, bushes and other supporting parts.
| Option | What is included | Best suited to |
|---|---|---|
| Supply only | Correct part identification and dispatch of the agreed steering unit, with fitting information discussed where available. | Garages, workshops, resellers, trade customers and private customers using their own installer. |
| Supply and fit | Removal, installation and the practical post-installation checks appropriate to the vehicle and component. | Private customers, garages, workshops and trade partners who want one steering specialist to manage the complete job. |
| Repair your original | Assessment and reconditioning of the vehicle’s original unit where its condition and design make this suitable. | Vehicles where retaining the original matched component is preferable. |
Steering rack replacement can alter the vehicle’s toe setting because the track rods and steering geometry have been disturbed. Therefore, a technician should check and adjust the wheel alignment after rack replacement and other relevant steering work.
Where applicable, we can discuss alignment as part of the complete supply-and-fit quotation. Alignment does not replace checks for worn tyres, suspension damage, seized adjusters or other mechanical faults.
Most steering racks we supply do not require programming or initialisation. Where a vehicle-specific procedure is required, we identify it before confirming the work.
Some electric steering systems may need coding, software configuration, steering-angle calibration or initialisation after installation. Requirements vary by vehicle, hardware revision and replacement type. We confirm what is included and explain any manufacturer-level procedure that may require separate equipment.
Garages, workshops, resellers and other trade partners can use us for supply-only orders or refer the complete vehicle for professional removal and fitting. As a result, trade customers can offer a complete steering service without carrying out specialist steering work in-house.
Private customers are equally welcome and can ask us to manage the complete job from identification and quotation through to fitting and the appropriate final checks.
For repeat and reseller enquiries, provide the invoice details and tell us when the repaired or supplied unit is sold or fitted if the warranty start needs to be recorded differently from the original invoice date.
The registration is a useful starting point, but it is not always enough. However, we may also need the VIN, production date, drivetrain, complete original-unit numbers and photographs.
Yes. We can assess removed racks, pumps, boxes and steering columns. However, the design, wear, corrosion, cracks, previous repair attempts and parts availability determine whether we can repair the unit.
We confirm the alignment requirements and pricing with the quotation. It should be checked after relevant steering work, particularly steering rack replacement.
Yes. We support individual customers, garages, workshops and trade accounts across the UK. When we quote, we also discuss the available delivery options.
Most steering racks we supply do not require programming or initialisation. Where coding, calibration or another vehicle-specific procedure is needed, we check and explain this before confirming the job.
Tell us what the vehicle is doing and send the registration or VIN, diagnostic information and original component numbers. We will explain the practical next step.
