How the Supply and Fit Process Works

1. IdentifyWe check the vehicle, symptoms, diagnostic information and original part numbers.
2. ConfirmWe explain the suitable repair, replacement or supply option and provide a quotation.
3. FitOur technicians install the agreed component using the correct procedure for the vehicle.
4. CheckFinally, we review steering operation, fluid condition, leaks, warning messages and relevant calibration or alignment requirements.

Wheel Alignment After Steering Work

Steering rack replacement can alter the vehicle’s toe setting because the track rods and steering geometry have been disturbed. Therefore, a technician should check and adjust the wheel alignment after rack replacement and other relevant steering work.

Where applicable, we can discuss alignment as part of the complete supply-and-fit quotation. Alignment does not replace checks for worn tyres, suspension damage, seized adjusters or other mechanical faults.

Coding, Initialisation and Calibration

Most steering racks we supply do not require programming or initialisation. Where a vehicle-specific procedure is required, we identify it before confirming the work.

Some electric steering systems may need coding, software configuration, steering-angle calibration or initialisation after installation. Requirements vary by vehicle, hardware revision and replacement type. We confirm what is included and explain any manufacturer-level procedure that may require separate equipment.

Supply and Fit for Trade and Private Customers

Garages, workshops, resellers and other trade partners can use us for supply-only orders or refer the complete vehicle for professional removal and fitting. As a result, trade customers can offer a complete steering service without carrying out specialist steering work in-house.

Private customers are equally welcome and can ask us to manage the complete job from identification and quotation through to fitting and the appropriate final checks.

For repeat and reseller enquiries, provide the invoice details and tell us when the repaired or supplied unit is sold or fitted if the warranty start needs to be recorded differently from the original invoice date.

Supply and Fit Steering FAQs

Can you identify the correct rack from the registration?

The registration is a useful starting point, but it is not always enough. However, we may also need the VIN, production date, drivetrain, complete original-unit numbers and photographs.

Can I send my original steering unit for repair?

Yes. We can assess removed racks, pumps, boxes and steering columns. However, the design, wear, corrosion, cracks, previous repair attempts and parts availability determine whether we can repair the unit.

Is wheel alignment included?

We confirm the alignment requirements and pricing with the quotation. It should be checked after relevant steering work, particularly steering rack replacement.

Can you supply directly to my garage?

Yes. We support individual customers, garages, workshops and trade accounts across the UK. When we quote, we also discuss the available delivery options.

Do electric racks need programming?

Most steering racks we supply do not require programming or initialisation. Where coding, calibration or another vehicle-specific procedure is needed, we check and explain this before confirming the job.
