Steering Rack Repair for Wales

Specialist steering repairs without a local branch

Drivers and garages in Wales can ask Pro Power Steering to assess a removed steering unit at our workshop in West Thurrock, Essex. We do not have a workshop or fitting branch in Wales. The practical route is local diagnosis and removal, followed by an agreed send-and-return repair where the unit is suitable.

We work on applicable electric power steering (EPS) racks, hydraulic racks, pumps and steering boxes. Heavy steering, a warning light or a fluid leak can have several causes, so the vehicle should be diagnosed before a rack is removed.

Ask us about your steering unit first

Send the make, model, year, symptoms, diagnostic findings and part number if known. We will explain whether we can assess the unit and confirm the address, carriage options and charges before you dispatch it.

How a Wales-to-Essex repair works

1. Diagnose and identify

Your local garage checks the steering system, records any fault codes and identifies the exact component. An EPS fault can also come from wiring, power supply or calibration.

2. Agree the receiving plan

Contact us before sending anything. We check the vehicle details, discuss repairability and confirm whether a courier or collection service is suitable for your postcode and parcel.

3. Protect the unit

The garage drains applicable fluid and secures the rack ends and electrical connectors. Pack the removed unit robustly. Do not send a leaking or poorly protected parcel.

4. Assessment and return

Our Essex workshop inspects the unit, discusses the proposed repair and price, and starts work only after agreement. Your local garage handles refitting and any necessary coding, calibration or alignment once the unit returns.

Cardiff, Newport, Swansea and wider Wales

We welcome enquiries from South Wales including Cardiff, Newport, Swansea and the Valleys, as well as other Welsh locations such as Wrexham and Bangor. The process and carriage quote depend on the actual rack, parcel and collection or delivery address. We do not advertise a fixed journey time or a guaranteed next-day service for every area.

For older, rare or high-value vehicles, preserving the original steering unit can be particularly important. Ask us about repairability before choosing an exchange unit. See our classic steering information and vehicle brand pages.

For Welsh garages and trade customers

Your garage remains responsible for vehicle diagnosis, removal and refitting. We provide specialist bench assessment and agreed repair at our Essex workshop. Share the vehicle details, rack reference and fault history through our trade enquiry service. We do not need a photo of the parcel label.
