Steering Rack Repair for Sussex

Sussex steering repairs via our Essex workshop

Drivers and garages in Sussex can use Pro Power Steering’s specialist repair service without travelling to our West Thurrock workshop. For many faults, a local garage can remove the steering rack or other steering component and arrange to send it to us for inspection, an agreed repair and return for refitting.

We welcome enquiries from Brighton and Hove, Crawley, Eastbourne, Worthing, Chichester, Lewes, Hastings and surrounding East and West Sussex areas. We do not have a Sussex branch. Contact us before dispatch so we can confirm the unit, delivery instructions, carriage options and likely next steps.

Get advice on a Sussex steering fault

Tell us your vehicle make, model and registration, what the steering is doing, and any diagnostic codes your garage has found. We will explain whether to send a removed unit for assessment.

Use a Sussex garage

Keep removal, refitting and vehicle checks with a garage convenient to you.

Specialist assessment

Our workshop can inspect suitable electric, hydraulic and manual steering units before recommending repair.

Agreed return route

Carriage, collection availability, cost and turnaround are confirmed for the particular unit and address.

From local diagnosis to repair and return

1. Check the vehicle first

Ask your garage to identify the fault and whether the rack, pump, box or EPS unit needs to be removed. Warning lights or heavy steering do not always mean the rack itself has failed.

2. Contact us before sending

Share the vehicle and component details. We will confirm what to send, how to package it and the delivery arrangements. Do not book carriage until the route is agreed.

3. Workshop inspection

We assess the removed unit at West Thurrock and advise whether repair or reconditioning is practical. We agree the work before proceeding.

4. Return and refit

The completed unit is returned to the agreed address, where your local garage can refit it and carry out vehicle-level checks.

Steering systems we can assess

Our work includes suitable electric power steering racks, hydraulic racks, manual racks, power steering pumps and steering boxes. Typical enquiries involve intermittent assistance, warning messages, fluid leaks, knocking, noise or play. The cause and repairability must be established for the specific unit; we do not promise a repair from symptoms alone.

We support private owners and trade workshops dealing with common vehicles as well as harder-to-source steering components. Keeping and repairing an identified original unit may be useful when a replacement is costly or uncertain, but this depends on its condition.

Sussex steering repair FAQs

Do I have to bring the car to West Thurrock?

Not usually for a removed-unit repair. A local garage can handle removal and refitting while the component is sent to our Essex workshop. Contact us to agree the process first.

Can you collect from Brighton, Crawley or Eastbourne?

Collection may be possible, but availability and price depend on the address and parcel. We will confirm this before a booking is made.

How long is the repair?

Diagnosis, parts availability and the type of fault affect timing. Carriage time is additional. We will discuss an estimate for your specific unit rather than promise a fixed turnaround for all Sussex customers.

Can my garage speak to you directly?

Yes. Garages can contact us with vehicle details, fault codes and component identification to discuss a suitable repair route.
